Today my interview is with a blogger who has been visiting my blogs for years and who I met through FuelMyBlog. She goes by RemBeatZ on twitter and you should be able to recognize her from her Avatar above. Karen, please tell the readers about yourself.

Karen

Greetings readers, to start off with my name is Karen Woodham and I was born in England and at the tender age of 10 moved to the wonderful land of song that is Wales and have been here ever since, I won’t tell you how long I’ve been here, that would really be giving away my age

In 1997 I started a humble musical duo called Remergence and been producing music ever since then, but over the last few years I have been bitten by the blogging bug and blog over several blogs, but my main blog is called Blazing Minds, a name which came of the top of my crazy head and I stuck with it and that is how most people know me through my blog ;)

BenSpark

I think it was the music that I had heard about first and Blazing minds later. Can you tell us more about your blogs.

Karen

Ok so onto my blogs, where to start, I suppose I should start by the most popular ones …

Blazing Minds is the blog I use the most and is my escape from my musical world, it’s where I get the chance to blog about anything and everything I want to, from my humble mundane day through to something I’ve discovered on the net and also where I post reviews via the wonderful FuelMyBlog and of course posts from SocialSpark ;)

The Remergence blog is mainly just for the musical side of things with posts on work that we are doing on new album releases, latest downloads of exclusive tracks etc, it’s also used to update fans on exclusive tracks…. So that’s about that really ;)

BenSpark

With all the time and dedication you need to play music you must be extremely busy. Doesn’t leave much time for other things, so why did you start blogging?

Karen

Originally it was a promotion tool for Remergence, but, over time I wanted to venture out and blog about other things, so I started Blazing Minds and as time went on blogging just became part of a routine and it’s fun, I love the comments that get posted, it’s interesting to see what people think of the subject that I post about.

BenSpark

Do you monetize your blog? What are some companies besides IZEA that you work with?

Karen

I have Google Adsense on my blog, which doesn’t really bring in that much, but it covers my web hosting so that’s great, I also have a system where advertisers can pay me for 125×125 banner ads on my site this does come in helpful for a bit of extra cash, it also works well for adding banners from SocialSpark for CPC and affiliates.

BenSpark

I love the ease of adding banners from SocialSpark. What is your favorite feature of SocialSpark?

Karen

I really love the CPC on SocialSpark as this is probably one of the best forms of income for myself when using SocialSpark to find subjects to either blog, twitter or facebook about. But saying that, the sparks are also very useful in getting some linkage back to my blog and when I do find one that I find interesting or some knowledge on I will use them to my advantage.

BenSpark

I created a spark once, I really haven’t used that service too often. I’d like to see it featured a little more prominently. What do you think should be improved on SocialSpark?

Karen

I would really love to see more sponsored posts that I could use, a lot seem to be state side and blogging from the UK does sometimes have it’s limits, but at the end of the day it’s all down to what advertisers use the site, so really I couldn’t improve the aspects of the site at all.

BenSpark

Fair enough, I think we would all like to have more opportunities available, even those of is int he States would like that. I’d love to have a ton of “You’re Qualified” e-mails when I fire up the browser. What is the first thing you do when you fire up your browser?

Karen

It’s a routine of mine to have my browser set to show my emails as soon as I power up my browser, after checking my mail and if I’m in a blogging mood I’m straight over to SocialSpark to check out if there are any new opportunities that I can take, if not, I’ll check my messages and see if there is anything important from SocialSpark that I should know about!

BenSpark

Things to know about, like these I’m Not A Famous Blogger Interviews? They have been excellent blog posts in my opinion, but I a biased on that one :-) What is your best blog post ever?

Karen

Now this is a tough one, I’ve done so many posts about so many different things since I’ve been blogging, but I would have to say that my post about Trouble Sleeping and the use of Mediation to help insomnia, which was a somewhat personal post and one which I would hope that others would find useful if they were also having sleep problems.

BenSpark

Meditation is interesting, I can never get myself calm enough to meditate, I will have to check out that post. You have some varied interests. Outside of blogging what are your other interests?

Karen

Meeting up with friends and having a good time and living life to the full, you only get one shot at it, so I make the most of it ;)

BenSpark

Speaking of making the most of it what is your favorite pizza topping?

Karen

Spicy sausage and pepperoni …. Hmmmmmm … Hang on I need the number for Pizza Hut

BenSpark

Some more random questions, how about your preference Pirates or Ninjas?

Karen

Ninjas

BenSpark

Okay, anonther food question. What one thing would be improved by adding Bacon to it?

Karen

It all depends on what IT is ….. If it was a bacon sandwich then pile it on baby!!!

BenSpark

Back to blogging here is an important one that people need to know. What are some of you favorite Blogs?

Karen

I have several in my RSS reader but the ones I visit the most are BenSpark, Daddy Papersurfer, FuelMyBlog and Dragonblogger

BenSpark

Okay, being a musical person you have to have at least one favorite Podcast?

Karen

EML Podcast

BenSpark

Karen, thanks so very much for sitting down and talking with me. I encourage readers to check out Karen’s blogs and her music. She’s a blogger who you should be reading and probably propping over on SocialSpark. Check out her SocialSpark Profile at http://socialspark.com/bloggers/rembeatz. Don’t know what propping is all about, you might want to check out my latest installment of SocialSpark Saturdays.

Excellent interview! I have been a subscriber to Karen's blog for only a short period of time, however I love the way she writes and the creativity she displays on her site.

I enjoy that as well. She is also my most loyal entrecard advertiser ever.

I have not even played entercard yet, I need to get on it.

It is okay, a bit heavy handed from the top down, I'm trying to cash out completely. Kinda all set with them.
