Today’s interview is with Karsun Hill of Karsun’s World.

Hi Karsun, I’m happy that you could take time to be part of the “I’m Not A Famous Blogger” Crew Interviews. How about you start off by telling the readers about yourself.

Karsun

9DBDI was born and raised in Northwest Florida and have the accent to prove it. No, really…it’s that bad. I’m married and our children have feathers, fins and fur. We have 3 dogs, 1 cat, 3 saltwater tanks and 2 birds, one who curses. Don’t blame me, blame that Buffy the Vampire video game I was playing a few years back. I have a degree in Criminology and currently attend Florida State with a major in Criminology and a minor in Communications. I own my own business where I do website design, freelance writing and just about anything else you can think of. I also have a certification in hypnosis and I’m working on getting that going again.

BenSpark

The Buffy Video game cursed? I never got to play that one but I loved the show as well as Angel. I’m even reading season 8 Buffy Comics and Season 6 Angel ones. Well, enough about that how about you tell us about your blogs

Karsun

Well, what I like about my blog is that I have fun with it. One day I might tell about the dogs biting a hole in my down comforter and sending feathers flying everywhere and the next day it might be something serious. I tend to say whatever is on my mind although I am a little more careful now that I have some religious friends and family members on Facebook. I still speak my mind, just a little less construction worker and a lot more innuendo.

BenSpark

A little less construction worker and a lot more innuendo” Love that phrase. I also have family reading my blog, my dad leaves comments all the time and occasionally my mom reads it too. I started the blog in the first place to keep people informed as to where I was while traveling. That was why I started, why did you start blogging?

Karsun

About 2 years ago. I thought a blog would be a great addition to my website and getting people to look at it. Plus, I like to talk a lot.

BenSpark

Do you monetize your blog? What are some companies besides IZEA that you work with?

Karsun

I mostly use IZEA but there are a couple of other places I’ve used such as Sponsored Opportunities and Blogvertise.

BenSpark

Sounds like SocialSpark is the top one for you to help monetize your blog. What is your favorite feature of SocialSpark?

Karsun

I like being able to browse the different types of opportunities and see which ones are something I’d have fun talking about.

BenSpark

I also like having the control over what I’d like to write about. I’d like to see some higher amounts, $6 for 200 words is weak. What should be improved on SocialSpark?

Karsun

I’d like to see even more opportunities open to bloggers instead of sometimes having to wait for days before something is open.

BenSpark

Yeah the few and far between issue. I’d like to see more opps as well. I spend time looking for opps through the day but not first thing. What is the first thing you do when you fire up your browser?

Karsun

I immediately check my mail, go to Facebook, do my banking, then open up my blog and visit all of the other blogs I follow.

BenSpark

You visit all the blogs that you follow, wow that has to take some time. I bet you read a bunch of great posts. What is your best blog post ever?

Karsun

I’m not sure if this is my best but it’s certainly one of my favorites. It’s called Do Not Mix and tells the story of one of my Belgian Malinois throwing up a ton of egg drop soup on me and the other two dogs. Yep, he hit us all. I even included pictures. Not of the actual deed but of him and egg drop soup pre-Donner’s stomach.

BenSpark

I just read that one, that must have been gross. I think I would have vomited myself, it would have been disgusting. Well let’s change the subject shall we, outside of blogging what are your other interests?

Karsun

I love spending time with my pets, reading (mostly horror), watching movies (more horror and especially foreign horror), going in cruises, shopping and playing video games. Am I totally deep or what?

BenSpark

Reading horror, not my favorite but I do like the Anita Blake series from Laurel K. Hamilton. I do love to read and read many blogs. What are you favorite blogs?

Karsun

BenSpark

Karsun, thanks so much for being interviewed as part of the getting to know the “I’m Not A Famous Blogger” Crew. Everyone should go and check out Karsun’s blog – Karsun’s World and also visit her on SocialSpark at http://socialspark.com/bloggers/karsun.
